Rule 36
Points to be awarded for challenging or special responsibilities
: (1) A maximum of five points will be given for a police officer performing challenging or special responsibilities as follows:-
(a) For very challenging or special responsibilities – 5 marks
(b) For medium level challenging or special responsibility – 3.5 marks
(c) For general or challenging assignments – 2 marks
(2) While giving the marks as per sub-rule (1), it will be given on the basis as mentioned in Schedule-11.
(3) Bye-laws regarding challenging or special responsibilities performed by the following officers by their subordinate police personnel
(2) Evaluation based on the following should be sent in a sealed manner to the secretariat of the concerned promotion committee within October 22 every year:
(a) The Inspector General of Police on the recommendation of the relevant department head, metropolitan police commissioner or head of the regional police office for challenging or special responsibilities performed by police officers from police inspector to deputy inspector general of police in their area of work.
(b) The Deputy Inspector General of Police on the recommendation of the head of the relevant branch, division, police precinct and district police office for challenging or special responsibilities carried out by Assistant Inspectors of Police, Deputy Inspectors of Police and Senior Deputy Inspectors of Police.
(c) The number of challenging or special responsibilities performed by police constables and police constables in their area of work by the relevant police constables, police assistant constables, police constables and senior police constables on the recommendation of the relevant police inspector.
(4) While calculating the marks for challenging or special responsibilities, the number of years of service required to be a potential candidate for promotion will be calculated from the average of the last year's challenging or special responsibilities.
(5) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in these regulations, if immediate promotion action is to be taken, the promotion committee shall consider the current financial year of the prospective candidate for promotion.He can give orders to the relevant authorities to evaluate the challenging or special responsibility.
(6) If the order of the promotion committee is received according to sub-rule (5), the relevant officer shall evaluate it within the time specified by the promotion committee and send it to the relevant promotion committee in a sealed envelope.
(7) According to this rule, the determination of the issue of challenging or special responsibilities to the police personnel working in which area shall be as approved by the Ministry on the recommendation of the Police Head Office.
